Services

Data acquisition:

We begin with a site inspection during which we will discuss with you your expectations, plans, proposals etc., and then use our experience to propose suitable locations for our data acquisition installations.  Once determined, we install to BS 6651 standard, and gather complete meteorological data to allow as full and accurate a picture of localised conditions and capacity as possible.

Data is gathered and downloaded at frequent intervals.  The ClimateCaptureâ„¢ software can dynamically model and report results on an interim basis throughout the monitoring period, providing ongoing feedback to the client of seasonal energy data.  Data is also correlated with historic area data to highlight anomalies and trends.

Energy modelling:

In the second stage the localised data gathered in Stage one is input to our state-of-the-art ClimateCaptureâ„¢ software modelling facility. This has the ability to model the influences of existing or proposed buildings, land reformation, flora, etc. and display the impact these would have on wind flow, solar energy, etc., enabling the full visualisation and measurement of the potential energy production of the specific site.

Mirspot can also determine how well new and existing buildings/settlements can/do perform on the site assessed.  By integrating Mirspot site analysis with sophisticated dynamic building simulations we can identify and assist clients in reducing the negative impacts site weather can have on building energy performance through design intervention (new build) and fabric intervention (existing).  Simultaneously we can recommend where and how to make the most of site strengths.

This is crucial in the planning stage of any proposed low carbon or renewables dependent development, and a powerful USP in any substantiated sales pitch by/to commercial developers.

Technology matching:

The third stage of the service is to provide practical, impartial advice on which specific commercial technologies and products are best suited to the local circumstances, whether this is wind, heat pump, solar, hydro or otherwise.

Mirspot works closely with clients to ensure their preferences, management operations and circumstances are fully taken into consideration.  These criteria are then incorporated into a comprehensive and customised final report, which provides detailed supporting material as well as summarised recommendations.  This report can form part of the planning submission for compliance with PAN84 and emerging low carbon, high efficiency, sustainability development requirements from local authorities.
